4 Kansas City Brunches
In my opinion, there are few things better than a weekend brunch. Finally having the time to enjoy a morning with your girlfriends, significant other or family is simply the best. If you’re looking for a few new brunch spots to check out, you’ve come to the right place! Over the last couple of months I have tried several places but these four Kansas City brunches stood out to me.
Happy Gillis sits on the corner of Pacific and Gillis St in Columbus Park. This cozy spot will remind you of being in your grandparents home with handmade mugs and decor. My favorite meal to get here is the Breakfast Sandwich($8). In between the two slices is Webster City bacon, scrambled farm eggs and aged white cheddar. If you lather a little siracha sauce inside, it gives it that nice little kick you need in the morning. The Biscuits and Gravy is also another great pick. For $4/$8 you can order a half or full size, whatever tickles your fancy.
Louie’s Wine Dive
My favorite part about Louie’s Wine Dive are the mimosa carafe options($12). There is the classic, the ruby red with champagne and grapefruit juice and the hibiscus which is champagne and cranberry juice and all are priced at $12. The menu has a wide variety of breakfast plates so you’re sure to find a meal that suites you. That morning, my sweet tooth needed to be satisfied so I ordered the Riesling Apple French Toast ($12) which is brown sugar french toast, riesling apples, whipped cream, spiced pecans and bourbon maple syrup and it hit the spot.
Summit Grill just recently (re)opened its doors to a new space in Waldo. With the extra room, it leaves more space for those brunch go-ers and mimosa drinkers. With a bottomless mimosa option, be sure to block off a substantial amount of time on your Saturday morning. The brunch menu is mostly filled with lunch options but the six brunch meals you can choose from are pretty tasty. I ordered the Summit Original Breakfast which comes with eggs, hash brown potatoes, toast and bacon or sausage ($9.95). It was my birthday so obviously mimosas were in order.
The Classic Cookie is just on the other side of Louie’s Wine Dive in Waldo. It’s a small little cafe where you can not only purchase great cookies but they also serve food. I went on a Friday morning and the place was already busy so I figured they were doing something right. I ordered a breakfast sandwich called The Usual ($4.99). It has an egg and cheddar cheese served on toast or English muffin with a side of potatoes. If you’re looking for a little cafe to work in, this is your spot!
These four brunch spots are places I would highly recommend! Where is your favorite brunch spot?
