Journeyman Cafe is a small local restaurant that is on a quaint corner in West Plaza. The menu may be small but the meals are definitely mighty. Journeyman is equip to fit a group of your gal’s for dinner and drinks or even to round up your crew to watch your favorite team play. For a nicer dinner spot, the meals are reasonably priced and a good size, which is always a plus for me.
Food and Cocktails
I went with a few friends to Journeyman and we had nothing but positive reviews and full tummies! The cocktail menu is pretty extensive with a full list of wine and beers but something that stood out to me was the variety of Moscow mules offered. I ordered the Housemade Cavatelli Pasta($12) which has fine herbs, cauliflower, smoked gouda and oyster mushrooms and it was exquisite. It was almost like a fancy macaroni and cheese, which only satisfied that child-like palette I have at times. I’m not the biggest cauliflower fan but it was the part I was picking out of this meal until I couldn’t fit any more in my stomach! My friends both ordered the Seared Chicken Breast($16) which comes with Yukon gold potato, green beans and scallion cream. Both friends said the chicken was perfectly cooked and the combination with the scallion cream was delectable.
Although there are plenty of restaurants located on or near the Country Club Plaza, Journeyman Cafe is one you should look to when setting those weekend plans. If you’re looking for a restaurant with a private room, Journeyman has a space to fit a little bit of a larger crowd and all you need to do is reserve it online. The food and drink selection at Journeyman make it a great place to eat in Kansas City, even if you’re here for a visit.
