KC Restaurant Week Picks

Last Friday, KC Restaurant Week kicked off my favorite culinary week! You can’t beat two-course lunches for $15 and three-course dinners for $33. There are so many participating restaurants you are sure to find one of your favorite restaurants on that list. I would highly recommend getting out there and trying a new restaurant that’s more than just your usual entree.

Rye

I have several favorite restaurants on the list but I started my week off at somewhere I had never been before, Rye. I had the caesar salad, hanger steak and banana cream pie. If you’re a vegetarian, there is also a gnocchi. Or if you’re in the mood for a traditional midwest meal, order the good ole fried chicken. This generous amount of food will leave you happily stuffed and bringing home leftovers for later. For the full menu, click here.

At the media kick off event, I got to taste some of the delicious foods from different participating restaurants and quickly added some of them to my list of restaurants to go to!

Brown and Loe

Whether you’re in the mood for a classic cheese burger and fries or a fancy wild isle salmon, Brown and Loe has a KCRW choice for you. My favorite that I’ve had there is the grilled cheese and the tomato soup which is offered on the happy hour menu. For the full menu, click here.

801 Fish

Above are the ahi tuna tacos from 801 Fish. If you live near Leawood, this should be added to your list of restaurants this week. There isn’t a lunch course so make sure you make reservations for only dinner. You can choose from salmon, steak or a jumbo crabcake! For the full menu, click here.

SPIN!

In the mood for a neapolitan pizza and salad combo? SPIN! is offering $15 dinner AND lunches. Included in the 6″ pizza and salad is a small gelato, beverage and a $5 SPIN! voucher. All the goodness wrapped up in just $15.

Zocalo

You can choose the three-course meal for $33 or the four-course meal for $38 and even add the wine pairings to go along with it. This menu is a little bit different than your traditional Mexican food line up but it sure does have my mouth watering. Choose a salad, bisque, or fish and top it off with a favorite cheesecake.
